About me

¡Hola!

I’m Kate, a linguist with a BA in Languages and International Business and an MA in Translation Studies. Over the years, I’ve had the chance to live and work in five different Spanish cities, and when I’m not working, I love to travel, which has really deepened my understanding of diverse linguistic and cultural nuances.

Professionally, I started out as a project manager in the translation industry, focusing on the audiovisual and medical sectors. These roles gave me a solid understanding of the translation process, from managing projects on the agency side to understanding client needs.

Later on, I moved into teaching English as a foreign language across various parts of Spain; in schools, universities, and company workshops. During that time, I specialised in academic English and business English, working as a course leader for the IELTS exams.

After completing my MA, I made the leap into freelance translation, where I started off specialising in travel and marketing content, which I absolutely love. Over time, as the industry is changing rapidly, I’ve taken on all kinds of different projects which have involved translation, transcription, academic writing and travel copywriting — so ‘linguist’ covers it all pretty well. These days, most of my work involves creating SEO content in the link-building industry, helping brands maintain their tone of voice in a competitive space.

I´d love to chat to see how I can support your projects!
